He can differentiate every material and block. He takes up 2 forms-Canonical and Vengeful, In his Canonical form he stalks the player and disappears if approached. In his Vengeful form, he has been reported to ensnare the player in traps, wait for them to enter his dungeon and seal them inside or teleport behind them and kill them. He is supposedly responsible for breaking the player's creations and stealing from their chests. He reportedly has telekinesis, reality warping powers, and is virtually invincible.
Herobrine has sometimes been reported to be able to possess mobs and players, in some fan stories , giving them white eyes in the process. It is thought that white-eyed mobs allow Herobrine to see through their eyes much like the player can look through the eyes of mobs in spectator mode and spy on the player.
Herobrine primarily acts alone and without assistance. It is on very rare occasion that he has been reported making use of any underlings to do his bidding. Still, a small cadre of servants and acolytes have been known to be employed by Herobrine:. Herobrine is reportedly capable of possessing mobs, changing their eye color to white. Mobs Herobrine has been known to posses include:. However, Herobrine's possession powers do not seem to be limited by much, so he is most likely able to possess the majority of mobs in the game.
Still, he does not seem to possess arthropods, nor mobs made from inanimate materials like magma cubes or iron golems. Non-corporeal mobs like vexes are also presumably unable to be possessed, due to their lack of a true body.
It is unclear if Herobrine can possess these mobs, and if so, what effects that would have on their appearance. Some people have claimed that hostile mobs do not attack Herobrine, and will leave him alone, or even be commanded by him. According to The Book of Fleeting Shadows , Herobrine was the king of the Pigmen , and he also created the first creeper and unleashed it against his own brother, Nidarc , killing him. However, this is not universally the case and, oftentimes these monsters are reported to be just as violent towards Herobrine as to players.
The original story does not recount Herobrine working alongside hostile mobs whatsoever. However, you can have Herobrine present in your PC world by downloading a mod or have a player wear a Herobrine skin activated.
